Projects in progress

Floura Design Comp

Im currently working on a modular design for the Floura Monos light design competition. In this competition Floura wants a lamp shade for their Monos light.

I started off by creating a CAD model of the actual light so I could build from there my design. Ive opted for a modular cubic design that gives off an organic look while still maintaining a structural feel.

Ive made a prototype to see how the cubes would fit. For the final design I will use a transparent/frosted filament so that the lights flows through the cubes.

Digital Standards

My Pole vault coach asked for a digital standard and height display for our team.

I wanted to incorporate curves into the box so it would be more challenging. To do this I used kerf cuts and hot water to get the right bend. I then laser cut acrylic panels for the front.

My teammates and I are still working on the electronics and LEDS to display the numbers.

Mounted Wall clock

I designed this wall mounted clock that I will build this fall. It can also act as a clock that sits on a table.

The digits are going to be made using metal sheets that will be flipped using small motors to create each digit. The box will be made using Black Walnut and the outer curve will also be made from black Walnut.

Circadian Lamp

Ive designed a circadian lamp that mounts from the wall to the ceiling. The plan for this project is that the light follows the path of the sun throughout the day using a stepper motor and chain.
