Pole Vault standard

April 2026

For my Computer aided product design Final I recreated each individual part of a pole vault standard in SolidWorks. I then assembled it and created an animation of the Standards collapsing into its completed assembly.

how

I had access to a set of old standards so I took one of them apart, I took pictures of each and measured them by hand marking the measurements on each photo. I then made a CAD model of each part and assembled them. Along the way I also created a couple of engineering drawings for some parts.

vortex brush cleaner

April 2026

Our group of three was tasked with creating an accessible brush cleaner for a client with cerebral palsy who has the use of only one hand.

I realized that a salad bowl spinner would be a good base and give us access to its spinning mechanism. From there we modified the spinner so that we could fit a brush, have a funnel for water, and made it so that it spins for the center access instead of the inner bowl that we removed.

Here’s an engineering drawing of the lid raiser I designed which we modified to make the brush holder and funnel for water.

Drill tear down

February 2026

In my engineering design class we were tasked with taking apart and modeling each part of a drill that was given to us.

How

I worked specifically on the chuck and all the parts connected to it. I had to break apart and measure each part in order to model it.

El rincon lamp

Summer 2026

I designed and built a floating lamp that sits at the corner of a room. I wanted to make something to fill that empty space in my room.

I used basic wood working tools to cut the panels along with using a hand plane to get the angles. I built the L bracket that holds the top of the lamp using aluminum that i sheared and bent. I did the same for the bottom aluminum sleeve.

Oval Coffee Table

May 2024

My senior year of high school I created a black walnut bent oval coffee table with a glass top.

To build this table I used bent lamination to get the shape of the table. This technique uses thin strips of wood that are layered together, glued and clamped to dry to the desired bend.

For the legs I used a lathe to get them to shape and for the mold I used a used a wood CnC machine.

Crank SLider

March 2026

I created a crank slider mechanism, using laser cut and 3D printed parts, that presses an image onto aluminum foil using a motor.

I started off by calculating the gear ratio in order to get the desired torque and speed. I then designed and created the supports for the whole mechanism which I made using 3d parts designed on Solidwoks along with some parts made from wood.
